Saturday November 12, 2011; FISHERMEN IN SUPPORT OF HEROES hosted the MSgt. Dick Phelps Memorial Veterans Appreciation 2011 F.I.S.H. Fest, which was a free day of pier fishing on the Seaview Pier for Our Military Heroes that have served in Our Nation’s Military. The day started with two eager Veterans there an hour early for the events and why not; after all the sun was up, the skies were a cloudless Carolina blue and the water was slick although the air temps were in the mid 30’s.

We had our 2nd Annual “Boots on the Boards” pier fishing trip with members of the Warriors in Transition Unit at Ft. Bragg, NC on Friday Sept. 30th. It was a great day. Everyone caught something; all our heroes seemed to really enjoy themselves. It was indeed a pleasure and an honor to spend some time with these wonderful people. At the end of the day these young warriors left with a new rod/reel combo package, tackle pack and lures to keep them fishing and plenty of fishing stores… Read On

On Nov. 7th FISHERMEN IN SUPPORT OF HEROES will be hosting a Veteran’s Appreciation pier fishing trip at the Sea View Pier in the town of North Topsail Beach. We hope for as many as 400 veterans participating. We need volunteers to be our eyes and ears on the pier. Volunteers will get to fish for free, get a cool F.I.S.H hat and free lunch. All we need for you to do is be aware of what is going on around you and help out anyone that might need it or alert one of us to any problem.
